Melanie Ammann

Melanie Ammann began her dance career at the Cantonal Conservatory of Music and Dance in Martigny and later at the University of Cologne, where she trained in ballet and contemporary dance, improvisation and composition. She worked in Basel for ten years: As a dancer and choreographer, she has realized many full-length pieces and her work as a dance teacher has taken her to several dance schools and the Uni-Sport Basel.

In order to consolidate dance with body therapy, she completed her training in Rolfing-Structural Integration in 2019. Her aim is to teach students that dance develops from within and is less about copying external forms. Her classes are based on fundamental bodywork and bubble with passion for dance in all its different facets. As artistic director of the TanzGas company, she helps to promote inclusion in dance creation.
